Sawtooth Mountains and Stanley - Early-Summer

The Sawtooths in Summer; what a delight. 10,000 to 11,000 foot Sawtooth Peaks tower over Stanley's elevation of 6,260 feet. The climate is comfortable, even in the middle of Summer, as light breezes keep the days mild, averaging from the mid 70's to the low 80's, with cool nights ranging in the 30's.

The Sawtooth National Recreation Area is about the same size as the State of Rhode Island. It has over 300 mountain lakes, more than 30 peaks over 10,000 feet, hundreds of miles of hiking trails and scenery that's out of this world!

The Sawtooth Mountains are second to none in offering varieties of recreation. Summer activities include hiking & backpacking, fishing, water-skiing, swimming,
photography, mountain climbing, river rafting & kayaking, bicycling, boating, horseback riding and more!

Stanley is the Gateway to the Sawtooth Wilderness, which is over 243,000 acres and the enormous 2.3 million acre Frank Church - River of No Return Wilderness.
